How do I get to Tulum?

The best bet is to fly into Cancun and hop on one of our coordinated shuttles that will take you straight to Amansala. Amansala can arrange transportation for you from the Cancun International airport with a reliable and comfortable service that they have been using for many years. It takes about 90 mins to reach us from the airport. A private transfer is $135, shared $70, shared with group of 6 or more $45. There is an additional charge of $20 each to be picked up from the Cancun hotel zone. Pick ups from Playa del Carmen are subject to the same rates listed above. As guests exit the airport, one of Amansala’s trusted drivers will be waiting, holding an Amansala sign.

When should I fly in and fly out?

We will kick off the retreat at 5pm on January 26th. If you would like to arrive earlier, you can arrange an extra night (or two) at Amansala, based on availability. We wrap up on the evening of January 28th so you can fly out anytime on January 29th or you can also arrange to stay after the retreat is over for some extra relaxation.

What if I’ve never done yoga before?

Amy and Tamara both teach a mixed level vinyasa class, so there will be options for all sorts of practitioners. The beauty of retreat classes is that they offer more time to break down poses and explain things, so chances are that everyone will be learning something, no matter your level of experience.

What if I’m gluten-free/low-carb/celiac/raw vegan/sugar-free? What type of food is it?

You’re in good company. Tulum has incredible food options that can fit your lifestyle. Only dinner on arrival day, and only breakfast on departure day are provided. 3 meals a day, with the exception of one off site dinner, are included in the daily rates. Amansala serve lots of fresh fruit and veggies, and local fish and chicken, their meal plan is based on the philosophy of “from the earth to your plate”, so avoiding preservatives and processed foods. Amansala meals are fresh, plentiful and delicious and can be customized to fit your needs.

Do they have massages?

YES! We highly recommend you pamper yourself and book one of the special healing treatments at Amansala.

What should I bring?

Bring yoga clothes, a swimsuit or three, along with shorts, tank tops and a lightweight jacket or hoodie since the temperature can drop a few degrees at night. Some other things we recommend bringing are a camera, hat, water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray and anything you love from the states.

Do I need to bring a yoga mat?

Yoga mats are offered on site but feel free to bring your own and any other accessories you like for your practice.

What is the cancellation policy?

Deposits secure your spot on the trip and are not refundable. Nobody books a retreat with the intention of canceling it, but unexpected events do occur, so please consider purchasing travel insurance. Exceptions cannot be made for any reason, including weather, injury/illness, or personal emergencies. No refunds or credits will be granted for failure to attend, complete or for arriving late or leaving early.
