Allow your mind to paint a picture of your perfect tropical getaway, and that place may be Mukul Resort. Mukul - the Mayan word for secret - features 37 spacious accommodations, each with an ocean view, pool and private staff. Surfers can enjoy perfect waves on Mukul’s four miles of private white-sand beach and rugged coastline, including world class Manzanillo Point, which lies directly behind the resort. Hike or bike to observe monkeys and other wildlife on seven miles of lush coastal nature trails. Pamper yourself at Spa Mukul, with six private spa-treatment sanctuaries or try your hand on the 18-hole Guacalito Golf Course. Mukul supports and strives for an eco-green, sustainable community. The hotel was built with the use of rainwater catchments, local materials, timber from sustainable forests, non-toxic paints and energy-efficient windows. In building the resort, builders replanted more than 1,500 trees – including a one-million pound 150 year old Guanacaste. Mukul supports the Nicaraguan economy by only hiring local workers, upholding the true tenets of community.

How do I get to Nicaragua?
The best bet is to fly into Managua Airport (MGA) and take Mukul's ground transportation from there or you can fly into MGA or SJO and take a short flight from there to Costa Esmeralda Airport - a 20 minute ride from Mukul.
How do I get to Mukul?
Mukul arranges complimentary ground transport to and from Managua or Costa Esmeralda airport, so a driver will meet you to whisk you away to our yoga paradise – keep a look out for the sign with your name on it!
When should I fly in and fly out?
We will kick off the retreat at 5pm on April 26th. If you would like to arrive earlier, you can arrange an extra night (or two) at Mukul. We wrap up on the evening of the 29th with a group dinner so you can fly out on April 30th or you can also arrange to stay at Mukul after the retreat is over for some extra relaxation.
Is there wifi there?
Yes, there is free wifi throughout the Mukul property, all included in your retreat rate.
What if I’ve never surfed before?
This is a great time to try it! Mukul's Tropicsurf program caters to all levels. We'll be hosting a group lesson (additional cost) for anyone who wants to ride the waves for the first time.
What if I’ve never done yoga before?
You’re also in luck! Amy and Mike both teach a mixed level class, so there will be options for all sorts of practitioners. The beauty of retreat classes is that they offer more time to break down poses and explain things, so chances are that everyone will be learning something, no matter your level of experience.
What kind of yoga is it?
Amy and Mike both teach a multi-level vinyasa flow style class, which is a breath-based movement system set to great music and woven together with a inspiring message.
What if I’m gluten-free/low-carb/celiac/raw vegan/sugar-free?
You’re in good company. Mukul has incredible food options that can fit your lifestyle.
Do they have massages?
YES! The Mukul spa is a luxury experience in itself. We highly recommend you pamper yourself and book one of their amazing treatments.
What should I bring?
Bring yoga clothes, a swimsuit or two, a rashguard or top if you’d like to surf, along with shorts, tank tops and a lightweight jacket or hoodie since the temperature can drop a few degrees at night. Some other things we recommend bringing are a camera, hat, water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray and anything you love from the states.
Do I need to bring a yoga mat?
Mukul has mats and props available to use but if you love your personal mat, we say bring it!
